Perched above New Preston Falls in northwestern Connecticut, Pergola represents a transition from the wilds of nature to the cultivated environment of home. Since 2005, owners David and Peter Whitman have merged their naturalist and design instincts to create a sensual shopping experience for home & garden.

―How long have you been selling Sola cube?
We have been selling them very well for over 10 years.
―What made you decide to sell the product?
We went on a trip to Naoshima in 2014 and found Sola Cube in the gift shop at Benesse House. We bought some for ourselves and then researched a bit to find out how to get Sola Cube for our own shop in Connecticut.
―How do customers think of Sola cube?
Our customers are always amazed at the consistent level of quality produced by Usaginonedoko.
As home and place increasingly become synonymous with sanctuary, Pergola’s combination of uncommon botanical material, weathered Japanese antiques and furnishings, studio crafted ceramics, home fragrance collections, and found curiosities can perhaps offer a more mindful approach to modern life in the 2020’s.
